Durham Cathedral

This magnificent Norman Cathedral is one of the great architectural experiences of Europe. Founded in 1093, it is the shrine of St. Cuthbert, and with Durham Castle is a World Heritage Site.

Opening Hours:
(Please note: all opening hours are subject to confirmation)
The Cathedral is open for worship and prayer on Sunday between 7.45am and 12.30pm and from Monday to Saturday from 7.30am to 9.30am. It is then also open for general sightseeing until 5.00pm on Sunday and until 6.15pm from Monday to Saturday. During the summer - from 17 June until 8 September - the Cathedral remains open until 8.00p.m.

NB: All opening hours are correct at time of going to print. Cathedral closed to visitors during evening recitals and concerts. At other times access may be restricted due to services and events.

Charges:
There is no charge for admission (donation requested)

Treasures of St Cuthbert:
Monday to Saturday 10.00am - 4.30pm
Sunday 2.00pm - 4.30pm

Admission:
Adults £2.00, Children 50p, Family ticket £5.00.
(Concessionary/group rate - £1.50 per person)

Audio-Visual Display:
Monday to Saturday from April to the beginning of November
10.00am - 3.00pm
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 November until 7 December
10.00am - 1.00pm (Saturday 10.00am - 3.00pm)

Adults 80p, Children 20p, Family Ticket £1.50.
